THE PROPERTY

There was nothing left,
Not a grocery list, not a pocket watch and chain.
Not a flock of geese winding round a china plate.
Not a newspaper clipping, not a wedding train.

A bittersweet tale of a grandmother and granddaughter's return to Warsaw and their reckoning with the past
as they attempt to reclaim a property lost during the Holocaust. Commissioned by Lyric Opera of Chicago's Lyric Unlimited.
